Procedure for Accepting Donations of Physical Artefacts

I. Appraisal and Evaluation

Donated physical artefacts must align with the types and scope of cultural relics collected by the Dalian Century Sound Recording Music Culture Museum (World Music Culture Museum). The museum's collection is categorised and organised by specific disciplines and historical periods. Therefore, donated exhibits must align with the museum's collection characteristics and disciplinary fields; otherwise, donations cannot be accepted.

Physical artefact donations must undergo authentication and appraisal by experts from the Dalian Century Sound Recording Music Culture Museum (World Music Culture Museum). Museum experts will evaluate the authenticity, age, historical context, and value of donated artefacts to determine whether they meet the museum's collection standards and value criteria.

II. Signing the Intent to Acquire Agreement

Suppose donated artefacts are deemed to meet the museum's collection standards and possess significant cultural value. In that case, the museum will issue an Intent to Acquire Letter to the donor, also known as the Intent to Acquire Agreement.

This Agreement constitutes a binding contract between the Dalian Century Sound Music Culture Museum (World Music Culture Museum) and the donor, specifying details such as the quantity, type, quality, and ownership of the donated artefacts. It also outlines the museum's responsibilities regarding the preservation, management, and exhibition of its collections. Before signing, the museum will conduct due diligence on the donor to verify their identity and the legal provenance of the artefacts.

III. Donation and Cataloguing

Following the signing of the Intent to Acquire Agreement, the donor delivers the artefacts to the Dalian Century Sound Music Culture Museum (World Music Culture Museum). The museum conducts detailed registration and classification of artefacts and utilisation poses. During the acceptance process, the museum implements protective and preservation measures to ensure the integrity and safety of the artefacts.

IV. Donor Recognition

The Dalian Century Sound Recording Music Culture Museum (World Music Culture Museum) will provide donors with appropriate recognition, such as issuing honorary certificates or inviting them to participate in museum events and activities. These gestures not only express gratitude and encouragement to donors but also enhance public trust and support for the museum.
