On the morning of August 17, 2025, Zhang Jingxuan, founder and director of the Dalian World Music Culture Museum in China, was invited to attend the Fifth International Acc Zhang Jingxuan, Founder and Director of the Dalian World Music Culture Museum, was invited to participate in the 5th International Accordion Culture Festival held in Tacheng, Xinjiang. During the “Belt and Road” International Accordion Culture Exchange event, the Dalian World Music Culture Museum and the Tacheng City Museum signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. This agreement confirmed areas of collaboration and established working mechanisms, laying a solid foundation for future in-depth exchanges and cooperation.
Memorandum of Cooperation
The World Music Culture Museum and the Tacheng City Museum, adhering to the principles of “equality and mutual benefit, resource sharing, complementary strengths, and joint development,” have reached the following cooperative consensus:
(I) Purpose of Cooperation
With the protection and inheritance of cultural arts as the core, establish a cross-regional and cross-disciplinary exchange platform to advance research, exhibition, and educational promotion of musical instrument culture, thereby enhancing public cultural service capabilities and social influence.
(II) Areas of Cooperation
1. Academic Research and Resource Sharing: Jointly conduct research on the history, craftsmanship, and culture of accordions, share findings, and organise academic events.
2. Collaborative Exhibitions and Brand Building: Plan cross-regional joint exhibitions on musical instruments, establish a music culture brand, and facilitate mutual exhibitions of cultural relics.
3. Educational Outreach and Public Services: Develop music education programs (e.g., workshops, study tours) and share digital resources.
4. Talent Development and Professional Enhancement: Improve professional capabilities in curation, cultural heritage preservation, and related fields through reciprocal training visits.
III. Cooperation Mechanisms
1. Designated Liaison: Appoint dedicated contact persons for daily coordination.
2. Regular Consultations: Hold annual working meetings to review achievements and plan future collaborations.
3. Information Sharing: Establish an exchange platform to synchronise exhibition, academic, and educational resources.
The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding marks a significant milestone in deepening cultural collaboration between the World Museum of Music Culture and the Tacheng City Museum. Moving forward, the implementation of these cooperative mechanisms and initiatives will further invigorate cross-regional cultural vitality, enrich public access to musical cultural experiences, and sustain momentum in the preservation of musical heritage.
