On March 21, 2025, the Dalian Naval Academy of the People's Liberation Army Navy organized a field trip for 90 students to visit the World Music Culture Museum. This activity aimed to enrich students' spiritual lives, broaden their cultural horizons, and further enhance their overall literacy by exposing them to musical culture.
Guided by museum docents, the students toured each exhibition area in sequence. From the millennia-old elegance of the Zeng Houyi Bells (replica) on the first floor, to the awe-inspiring resonance of the museum's crown jewel—John Blow's nine-foot grand piano—and the melodious tones of the German Royal Music Box alongside the century-old echoes of Edison's phonograph on the second floor, the students felt as though they had journeyed through time, immersing themselves in the profound heritage of musical culture.
After the tour, students unanimously expressed that this event not only exposed them to the diversity of global musical cultures but also deepened their appreciation for the profound richness of Chinese musical heritage. They pledged to integrate the insights gained from this visit into their future studies and training, dedicating themselves with renewed passion to national defence and contributing to the safeguarding of the nation's maritime borders.
